The new RP220
represents the perfect marriage of advanced digital technology
and the traditional art of the fine piano-building.
Using the unique ‘FFT
Merge’ technology specifically developed by Generalmusic and
sophisticated mathematical models, every slightest nuance of the
sound and playing characteristics of authentic acoustic pianos
has been faithfully reproduced. The RP220 offers the full sonic
range of the world’s finest grand pianos, the natural
resonance of un-played strings, the real sound of strings when
the damper pedal is depressed and the authentic simulation of
the attenuation of string vibration after a key is released. The
‘Damper Physical Model’ (GEM patent) allows the damper pedal
to recognize 16 different levels during its travel, making even
‘half-pedal’ effects possible and reproducing the real sound
of those strings that are free to vibrate when one ore more
notes are played with the pedal pressed down. The ‘Advanced
Release Technology’ provides a faithful reproduction of the
strings’ harmonic reaction to being damped while already in
motion, which occurs whenever a key is released. The exclusive
‘3D Transauralizer’ algorithm opens out the sound of the
instrument with sparkling clarity, giving a refreshing new depth
and character to each and every sound. The ‘Sound Board
Simulation’ physical model accurately simulates the behavior
of a grand piano sound board, reproducing its acoustic
characteristics. The RP220 offers a polyphony of 128 notes and
64 internal sounds plus 64 programmable (including acoustic and
electric pianos, vibraphone, harpsichord, jazz and pipe organs,
choirs, strings, guitars and basses). The RP220 contains 2
independent digital effects processors with 16 reverbs and 16
effects with separate send levels for each track. Navigation
within this vast collection of sounds is made simple by the
ergonomically designed control panel with a new 128 x 64 pixels
backlit display. A practical sequencer with 60,000 events
capacity contains an internal library of almost 300 studies and
famous pieces of music written for the piano, integrated by the
revolutionary ‘Intelligent Music Search’ (IMS) function. A
powerful 3-way 6-speaker 70W + 70W stereo amplification system
faithfully reproduces the complex sound diffusion of an acoustic
piano, from the full tones of ‘fortissimo’ to the infinite
subtleties of ‘pianissimo’. The cabinet offers an elegant
design, with finishes to complement any style of interior decor.
